There are many reasons why you might need to find a new auto body shop. Either you’re new to the area, your current mechanic has retired or you just bought your first car. No matter the reason, finding a new auto body shop can be a stressful experience. That’s why we have come up with a list of things that you should watch out for when you are on the hunt for a new auto body shop. If you see any of these red flags, seek out another auto body shop!
1. Signs of dishonesty. This is a huge red flag that should send you running in the other direction when seeking out auto body shops! Sometimes, this dishonesty manifests itself in terms of charging for services that weren’t performed or holding a car longer than necessary to charge more in labor. Other times, you might bring your car in for a simple maintenance check and are then told that your car has serious and expensive problems that must be fixed immediately. Honesty is an important quality in anyone, especially auto body shops.
2. Poor customer service. While an auto body shop certainly doesn’t need to be as clean as a hospital or day spa, an auto body shop needs to be relatively clean and treating its customers with courtesy and respect.
3. No checks and balances. When checking out an auto body shop, make sure that they offer not only accurate estimates, but warranties on their services as well.
